If you are anything like me, 9pm hits and all I seem to want is chocolate… or chips and salsa… or a glass of wine.
Just like many others, I made several resolutions for 2015. One of mine was to re-imagine and recreate some of my favorite indulgences into healthier options. So here I sit, January 2nd – wanting some chocolate, at 9pm – enter KLC Kitchen Re-Creations.
Tonight’s item… Chocolate Mousse!
Decadent, delicious and light.
In a food processor, blend together…
1 Ripe avocado, peeled and de-pitted
2 Ice cubes
1Teaspoon coconut oil
1/2 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon vanilla agave
1 Teaspoon raw honey
2 Tablespoons – 100% raw cacao powder
Blend until smooth, and garnish with one or a few of the following…
– A few berries (raspberries or strawberries)
-A teaspoon of gluten & soy free chocolate chips
– Coconut flakes
Blend with 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder for a post-workout treat!
