I am not sure if this winter is ever going to end… Today I am reminiscing back to Castle in the Clouds getting married, and how beautiful it was. We were EXTREMELY lucky, and had the perfect weekend.
2 months ago today, we were on our gorgeous honeymoon in Belize. What a trip, it was absolutely phenomenal. Such a fun, and active country. We went cave-tubing, spelunking, kayaking, sailing, swimming, fishing and so much more.
Meanwhile today, we are getting about 2 feet of snow, and I figured I would take the opportunity to get some much needed reading done. Catching up with some of my favorite blogs is how I usually get motivated the most. If you are feeling a lack of motivation during this winter-suck, check out of few of these great reads, and hopefully it will fire you right up! Here are a few out of my favorites….
www.carrotsncake.com – This is a super cute health and fitness blog written by Tina Hopper. Tina is a CrossFitter and Personal Trainer who essentially documents her life as a mom, fitness enthusiast and foodie. I really enjoy catching up on her daily blogs. She is also a published author and ambassador for several fitness brands.
Sarah Dussault and TIna Hopper!
www.theandreaager.com – Super-Fit, Gorgeous CrossFit athlete, Andrea Ager’s blog. A very competitive young woman, who attributes her successes to hard work, and being a woman of strong faith. She is extremely driven, passionate and her blog resonates with not just athletes, but anyone needing that kick of motivation.
www.paleomg.com – Juli Bauer, what can I say but this chick is hilarious. Her recipes are phenomenal, and her videos on www.youtube.com are even better. She mixes in a little fashion (LOVE!), crossfit wod diary, and also has her own cookbook. Can we say girl crush?
General Fitness, Health and Nutrition
www.sarahfit.com – Sarah Dussault is a health and fitness blogger based in Boston, MA. I have followed her since she worked for www.diet.com . In general, I like Sarah’s attitude. I have a lot of respect for this girl because she doesn’t conform to every mold. She is fit and healthy- but doesn’t starve herself – and is honest about enjoying a cocktail or cupcake here or there. She is kind of anti-CrossFit which makes me laugh (I don’t think she has given it enough time to fully understand the programming/learning curve), but again – she is candid about everything! In general, she has some good recipes on her blog, interesting content and keeps it light-hearted.
www.toneitup.com – Tone It Up™ – is another Health, Fitness and Nutrition brand, blog, and comprehensive community run by Karena Dawn, and a friend of mine from college, Katrina (Hodgson) Scott. These two get it done… They are a super team who have created a multi-million dollar mega-hit. I very much admire what they have done for women’s fitness. I am currently reviewing in detail their nutrition plan (COMING SOON!). I have done nearly all of their workouts, and love their general spirit and attitude about health and fitness. They make healthy lifestyles attainable, and fun. Let’s face it, if it’s not fun – we aren’t going to do it. While I have yet to really feel majorly challenged by their workouts, I am a big fan of the brand overall.
www.emilysfullplate.com – Shout out to my home girl Emily Hursty (soon-to-be Lawson!). Emily is a girl-friend of mine who writes a fitness and lifestyle blog about her Fitness Obsession and literally “full-plate.” I love her style of writing, her adventurous spirit, and her creativity. Not only does she write about health and fitness but she works for www.spartanrace.com Badass!
