Monday’s should always start with some positivity. It’s easy to write Monday’s off as just the horribly long day that follows the weekend. It’s more of a challenge to make Monday’s work for YOU. Monday’s are now one of my favorite days of the week, but it has taken a while to get there. I have added a few tips to get your Mondays off your naughty list for the rest of the year.
1.Be Prepared -Prep your Food the night before. It doesn’t have to be for the whole week, just get your lunch ready, and make sure you have something ready to go for breakfast. It’s as easy as chopping some fruit for a smoothie, or making sure to make enough food for Sunday dinner, that you will have some leftovers. This will ensure that you aren’t grumpy throughout your crappy Monday, cursing it on drops in blood sugar when you are starving because all you had was a choco-mocho-lattechino. Eat something REAL.
2. Practice some Positivity -This is a challenging one, but it makes all the difference. Find a positive Mantra that you believe in, and simply repeat it to yourself throughout the day, when things get challenging. Boss being difficult? Simply got up on the wrong side of the bed? Kids driving you insane? Remind yourself of your mantra, take a breath, and remember – It will be over soon ;).
3. Get a workout in. Last week I posted about making sure you get a workout in on Mondays. Nothing has changed. Get it done, and reap the benefits.
4. Make some plans. Use Monday’s to get yourself organized for the week. I use an Erin Condren Agenda to keep myself from going insane. If you are a neat freak like me, this will be massively helpful on making sure you are able to balance/prioritize your work/personal/fitness life. I seriously would be lost without it.
5. Try to cook/avoid going out to eat. While it may be tempting to just order a pizza and write the rest of Monday off. Try and get something relatively healthy in your system. This one works just like your Monday workouts. The more “on track” you start off the week, the easier it will be to maintain throughout the week. Save the cocktails and junk-food for the weekend. You can do it.
