Our baby boy is finally here, and he is absolutely wonderful! Jameson Richard is officially 3 weeks old, and we have been enjoying our little hiatus and family time very much.
What a rollercoaster it has been! I knew having a newborn wouldn’t be easy, but you truly don’t understand until you are “in it,” and truthfully I don’t think he is a very difficult baby (? hopefully I don’t kick myself for saying that!) We are definitely sleep deprived, definitely stressed but truly enjoying every moment. It takes only the tiniest little face, gurgle or cuddle to completely change your mood.
Our birth experience was quite the story. While we have nothing bad to say at all about the Hospital, or Staff- nothing went quite how we had planned, not to say it ever does… But pretty much everything we didn’t want – we ended up having (induction, pitocin, a failed epidural, and ceasarian section). Long story short ( I can share the full version if any Mama’s are interested) 34 hours of Labor, 8cm dialated and Jameson was still transverse, and despite all our best efforts- we ended up needing the Ceasarian. But it didn’t matter- we had our healthy and BIG baby boy.
At 8lbs and 14oz, and 21 inches, Jameson was a lot bigger than we expected- and blonder! Although I was blonde when I was a little girl… I just hope he has hubby’s curls ?.
We are so in love, and trying to take it all in! I am planning on sharing some “fit-mom” related content but also keeping up with my Paddleboarding, CrossFit, Nutrition and Lifestyle posts as well.
